Loving this new Diego Moonlight Rescue DVD release! We are huge fans of Diego. 2 year old Mackenzie spends hours role playing as Alicia and Daddy or I pretend to be Diego as we rescue animals all throughout our house. Even Kyle has a part to play as baby jaguar! We think Diego DVD's provide an interactive and fun platform to learn about animals from around the world like Leatherback Sea Turtles, Pumas, Tree Frogs, and more!
Mackenzie and I recently watched the just released Alvin and the Chipmunks Great Adventure (1987)on dvd. What a blast from the past! I remember loving Alvin and his pals when I was a little girl and it was so much fun to watch and especially hear Alvin's cute quirky voice once again. Mackenzie loved this fast adventure of these "critters" as she called them - racing around the world in a hot air balloon! She especially enjoyed the Chimpettes inclusion into this movie too. Another dvd just released about Alvin and his Chimpunk gang is "Funny, We shrunk the Adults". Look for Classy Mommy to giveaway a bunch of these DVDS in the coming days!
Classy Mommy loves the Disney movie, Enchanted! This instant Disney classic is a movie that parents will totally enjoy watching with their children - and perhaps they'll like it even more as this modern day fairy tale is a bit of a spoof on the classic princess stories with a wonderful twist at the end.Princess Giselle is immediately likeable and irresistible to both children and parents. As is fitting for a 21st century princess, Giselle ultimately decides to choose her own destiny and ends up needing to slay a dragon to save her true love. 2 year old Mackenzie is already singing Princess Giselle's songs around the house, as Mackenzie pretends to dust and clean singing Giselle's the "Happy Working Song." My husband loved it too as this is a movie for the whole family! Releases on March 18th, 2008.

My 2 year old adored watching 101 Dalmations and I'm sure your kids will too! With all those cute puppies how could any kid not love it? And Mommy, who remembers seeing this movie as a kid, loved seeing 101 Dalmations again for what seemed like the first time in 101 years! Mackenzie keeps asking to see that cute doggy movie again and she is now frequently role playing the puppies Patch or Rolly. Cruella de Vil also spooked her and made quite an impression as being in her words "very, very, naughty!" Cruella de Vil sure played one heck of wicked villian and for all you parents - she is just as evil as you might remember her!

This Barney DVD is one of 3 new DVD releases as of 3/4/08 from Hit Entertainment and Fox. Kenzie (and Mommy) enjoyed this video as it goes through the entire alphabet in classic Barney song & dance format while associating an animal with each letter. Lots of fun! Other releases parents will be sure to jump at include Bob the Builder: Building Bobland Bay and Thomas & Friends: Engines and Escapades for $10 each.
This was a fantastic DVD to review and we've seen nothing like it so far in our reviews. If your little girl aspires to be a ballerina and yearns to be a princess, she'll dig this DVD created entirely by 2 Moms from New Jersey. Prima Princessa features segments of the Paris Opera Ballet performing Swan Lake as narrated by a cute little cartoon Ballerina. The DVD flips between scenes of the live ballet performance and real little girls dancing around in tutus along with some coaching from the cartoon princess. Before you know it, your 3 year old will be doing pirouettes and arabesques in your living room! I'm not kidding!

Very cool - as Bob's world LITERALLY meets the real world here! Bob and his cast of characters take viewers "On Site" to see actual bulldozers, construction sites and more. Kenzie goes crazy for Bulldozers whenever we see them so she got a real kick out of watching Bob take her on a trip to see some crazy big machinery!
My words just will not do it justice. If you haven't seen Juno - please go see it -like yesterday! This movie is phenomenal, quirky, and touching. I liked it so much that I just orderd the catchy soundtrack to give me a Juno fix. It's been a top downloaded album off iTunes and I understand why - and so does my 2 year old! I'll be rooting for Ellen Page to win best actress and if you see this movie, I bet you will be too. Totally Classy Mommy approved!
Pingu is about a playful penguin living in the chilly artic who seems to constantly wind up in tricky and comical situations. This DVD is compiled of a series of individual 5 minute tales - perfect for our household rules of limiting TV time! I had a chance to review this DVD earlier this month....my 2 year old was a huge fan. From an adult perspective this show is a bit bizarre as Pingu and his fellow penguin friends & family do not speak english - but I'll tell you he is totally appealing to the kids! Mackenzie kept asking to see it again and again and I think part of the appeal to her was that Pingu did NOT speak English and instead she was following his gestures and actions. The 5 minute vignettes totally captured her attention. Releasing today for only $10 on Amazon! Enjoy!

Brrr! Tis the season to pull out those winter dvd's. The newly released Winter Wonderland has a super collection of winter themed stories from our kiddies favorites characters. Mackenze, at age 2, loves the Barney episode focusing on snow - she can't wait to see snowflakes and play in the snow now! Other episodes include Thomas, Bob the Builder, Sam the Fireman, and Pingu the Penguin. I love that each episode is only about 10 minutes long so this allows us to do a quick TV fix.

It's been a long long time since I've thought about the Care Bears - they were hot when I was a kid in the 80's and it looks like they are still hot today! This was the very first official movie my daughter, Mackenzie, at age 2 has ever seen. Both she and I adored this cute adventure story of good versus evil. Mackenzie especially loved that this DVD comes with a poseable small plastic toy of the star character, the little Green "Oopsy" bear whose name comes from his clumsy behavior. Days later we are still playing with this tiny toy!

This DVD is incredible and an ALL TIME Classy Mommy favorite. I highly recommend this if you are either beginning to Potty Train your toddler or struggling with the process. Mackenzie adores this video and sings around the house the catchy tune - Go Potty Go! Cute panda bears sit on potty seats and talk about going potty, wearing big kid underwear, and washing your hands after. At 21 months, and only watching this video a few times, this has really piqued her early interest in Potty Training and she is even requesting to do # 2 on her potty chair - and we are having success! The Danger Rangers blend top notch action, adventure, animation and more with the entertainment that children will enjoy and the safety message that parents appreciate! This "Cool by the Pool" book was just in time for summer as this fun storyline provides many pool and heat related safey tips all in the context of the tale! Mackenzie loved the characters too!
After reviewing this dvd, Classy Mommy thinks the Bop-a-Lots just might be "the next big thing" in educational and animated DVDs. Mom and 17 month old Mackenzie were able to review this totally fabulous Bop Along DVD-which also comes with a companion CD so you can listen to your favorite tunes anytime. The Bop-a-Lots were created by 2 Hollywood Dads who decided to channel their skills into creating something special to entertain and educate their children. The Bop-a-Lots introduce a well known song like Old Mac Donald in a traditional format and then take the kids through new musical variations of the song that incorporate diverse dance and music from around the world whether it be Celtic, a French minuet, Calypso, or Arabian. The animation is super colorful and the Bop-a-Lots are ultra cute and fun too!

Baby Einstein just launched a brand new BABY SIGNS DVD this week. As my daughter is now starting to talk, I haven't seen this one yet, but it is designed to teach our tots 20 of the most common words and phrases, like Mommy, Daddy, & I love you. We taught our daughter the sign for EAT and MORE on our own and definitely found it very convenient that she could share her basic needs with us - even if when she constantly told us she needed to eat all the time! 15 month old Mackenzie and I had the opportunity to view the Baby Juno Rhythm Adventures DVD. This series won every Parenting Media award in 2006! Wow. I know nothing about music but can attest my daughter loved it on her first viewing. Juno's music is live and performed by orchestral musicians - much of it was also composed by the founder of Baby Juno. Also the character's actively talk to the children to elicit participation. And on a first go - it totally worked for Mackenzie as she was clapping and stepping as Juno requested! My Mackenzie likes this one, although at 11 months she is too young to answer Dora's questions. Hopefully, this dvd is prepping her for Halloween as she learns that the ghost says Boo.

My daughter loves Elmo and so do I. This DVD is fantastic and includes super fun Elmo hits that are all time classics. Julia Roberts and Whoopi Goldberg make cameos in the show. Wathcing Sesame Street on TV is convenient, but the repetition of watching the same Elmo hits is even more appealing to toddlers.
Designed for children ages 6 months - 2 years old, the new Sesame Beginnings DVD collection caused a stir with it's launch. This controversy sparked my decision to buy the DVD's and decide for myself. My 8 month old daughter adores this DVD and it is personal favorite for both Mom and Dad too. The baby Sesame characters are absolutely cute, fun, and adorable. These fantastic DVD's are intended to encourage parents to interact with their children during the show by dancing, singing, and watching the program together. The short length of about 21 minutes also makes this a viable option for the attention spans of both kids and parents. Give this a try and I'm sure you'll love it.
