Classy Mommy Mother’s Day Giveaway: Nominate a Mom to win over $1000 in Goodies

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, we decided to unlock our Classy Mommy prize vault to benefit a worthy Mom. We’ve got a prize package worth over $1000 packed with goodies for Mom and her kids. Prizes include tons of booty ranging from dvds, books, toys, jewelry, designer diaper bags and purses too! (Think a Bumblebag Diaper Bag, Kate Spade purse, and even a Coach umbrella) See a complete list of prizes below.

We are seeking nominations from our readers to help us select to whom we should give all these goodies. Given recent events in my personal life, we decided to create a giveaway to honor a Mom raising a family who has been impacted by Breast Cancer. We’re looking to brighten the day of a Mom who is battling or has battled breast cancer.

When Kyle was 9 weeks old I had my own personal breast cancer scare. Thankfully, after a lumpectomy and biopsy, my tumor turned out to be benign. My Mother-in-law, Aunt, and 2 of my best friends Moms are all breast cancer survivors. Breast cancer touches so many of our lives and the thought of battling breast cancer while raising a young family is daunting.

Please email your nominations to: mailto:giveaways@classymommy.com. Include the Subject heading “Mother’s Day Giveaway” and include the Nominees name. (ie. Mother’s Day Giveaway – Jane Doe) Please share your nominee’s story in 500 words or less. Nominations must be received by May 11th, 2008 (Mother’s Day). We will notify the winner by May 17th, 2008 and if the winner is willing we will share their story!

Disclaimer: Nominees must be US Residents with a US shipping address. All official rules can be found here. Winner must provide us with a US shipping address by May 30th, 2008.

We will review all nominations and select 1 winner. So if you know a worthy mommy, please tell your friends to nominate her too!

If you'd like to help spread the word, please add the Classy Mommy Giveaway Badge to your blog or website. Just add this html:

My Mom wants to nominate me. The year 2000 I had cysts removed from my breast. I have had several babies since then. I have breast fed all of my babies.

I think the giveaway is a wonderful gesture! I was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 19, 2007. I am awaiting to have my surgery very soon. This journey has been an eye-opening experience.

I don't have Breast Cancer, I have liver cancer, and as of Friday, I am on the transplant list. I am about to be a grammy by my sweet daughter and son-n-law! I can't be everything I want to be for my child, but both of my kids have been supportive. I have a huge support group. I am truly blessed. I actually am working on my 'Bucket List'. I am a child of God, and I am not afraid, for I have a home in Gloryland! My nomination however is my mom. She is a humanitarian. She gives and gives some more! She is the strongest woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, so happens to be my mom. My situation has really taken a toll on her. After all, I am her child. I have a daughter...so I understand. Pray for my mom and children, that they find strength, and peace. Thank you.

I added it to my blog and I'm going to nominate Susan Reynolds over at http://toddlerplanet.wordpress.com/

She has done so much to share her experience and to educate women about Inflammatory Breast Cancer.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Hopefully, this is also a reminder to everyone to also do a "self-exam". If I wasn't breastfeeding I don't know that I would have found my lump.

Lisa - PLEASE feel free to send in an email nomination for Susan from Toddler Planet. She is an inspiration.

It's too late for my daughter to win any prizes. She died after a couragous 8 yr. battle with breast cancer.
Julie left behind three daughters, a 18 yrs. old, 14yr. old, and a little just turned two yrs old. The baby was Julie's gift and miracle for us.
Julie's husband, Larry and older daughters deserve all the goodies they could receive for being such brave, and wonderful Mommie subs for Julie to little Halle

I would like to nominate my girlfriend or her mother or even her grandmother. My girlfriend, Emily Emfinger, has just had a cute little girl on January 4th, 2008, so she could use this stuff greatly if she won. The reason I am nominating her or her mother or her grandmother is the fact that her grandmother and her mother are both survivors of breast cancer. I'm not certain on all the particulars of what they had but they did survive it. One of Emily's biggest fears and prediction is that she will get breast cancer eventually just like her mother and grandmother. Hopefully this does not happen, but she will be prepared if that day comes. This is her first mother's day with her little girl and I'd like to make it a special one.

My mom started the Children's Language Institute, a school for children with communication disorders so that children with speech and communication problems can get better. Many of the kids are now college graduates thanks to her efforts!

Three cheers for Mom!!

Happy Mother's Day to all.

Great prize package!

That's wonderful that you are doing this Colleen!!!

I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, when my daughter was almost two. It has been one of the most difficult challenges that I have had to face. I have lost both parents in the few years prior to diagnosis. Now, I worry about my daughter losing her mom and not even remembering me.
