My Wired 3 Year Old and the iPod Touch

Kenzie loves technology and is all over the iPod Touch. Watch her select just the right lighter, open it up and start the flame! Very cute. Her and 10 month old Kyle are actually fighting over Daddy's iPod Touch all the time. Big hint for Santa - I'm hoping for one of these in my stocking this Christmas. And I'm mortified to admit it but I believe my 3 year old will be the one teaching me how to operate it !

Kenzie only turned 3 this week. Do you think we're letting her use our high tech gadgets too soon??? Or do you think learning technology for this generation will be just as important as learning their ABC's???

Wow - look at her go with that thing! And she's pretty darn cute too. :)

I just got an iPod touch - and I love it! I haven't let the kids near it yet though. ;)

HI-larious!! I'm pretty behind on this technical stuff. But my husband isn't, that's for sure!! It seems the kids are following in his footsteps with high-tech gadgets. Both Kiki and AJ play the DS like it's their job!

Colleen, I love the question you pose at the end. I am torn between it being too early to introduce Maddie to techy things and it being totally appropriate for today's day and age. She shocks me with the things that she knows about all of out gadgets...just by observation. I feel like as long as there is a balance of other types of play, that technology play is good for them too.

She is too adorable and IPods ARE a lot of fun. She probably understands one better than I do.

There's no such thing as too early. This is when those crucial brain paths are being formed! You're putting her ahead of the curve! :)

K has had her own computer since before she could walk. At this point, she's more comfortable on the computer than most adults. Plus she has used the keyboard to learn spelling and reading long before her peers.
In Kindergarten, she's already reading at 1st grade level - better than I was at her age! I attribute it to her keyboard usage.

Let your daughter play all she wants - she's just getting her digital edge on!!! :)

Plus, it's too cute for words!!
