With the economy putting many of us in a financial crunch this holiday season, Nickolodeon has teamed up with Walmart's 11 Moms to offer a Holiday Money Saving Tips Contest. And Classy Mommy is a huge Nick Jr. fan too as I totally approve of several of their TV shows, toys, and books for my tykes. The idea behind this contest is to motivate us all to share our best tips and tricks to save money during the holidays. The best tips will even be pulled to the Walmart.com website!

I'm a bit of a holiday junkie when it comes to decorating and celebrating. From October - December I know my monthly incidental expenditures nearly quadruple as I've got birthdays for both my children, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas to sustain in the festive style I've grown to adore. Yikes!

The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea Special Edition DVD Giveaway

Stacy London Reveals Secret Shampoo

Over the past 6 weeks, I've been able to test out a "secret shampoo" which Stacy London revealed yesterday to be Pantene Pro-V. And what's really cool is that P&G let us bloggers in on the secret a few days ago before the big National launch.

While in Arkansas, the 11Moms all were treated to the secret shampoo and a blow dry at a salon. It was an intriguing experience to not have any clue what kind of product was being used on your hair and trying to guess by smell just what it might be. Here's my interview clip:

I honestly loved how my hair looked after the secret shampoo and I've been using it at home now for almost a month and have had great results. But I must admit I can NOT blow dry my hair like a professional so when I'm being interviewed - the results definitely look different than why I style my ahir at home. (And if I'm really being honest you know I'm lucky if I can get a shower every other day if not every 3rd day since I'm so busy chasing my kiddies around! )

The Wii and Drama and Votes, Oh My!

The Classy Mommy Nintendo Wii Giveaway Popularity Contest is still buzzing in the Blogosphere and Twitterverse.

Over 700 entrants, with some of the top runners getting over 500 votes already. Crazy!

I've been fielding some email and Twitter DM's asking if you could donate the Wii to charity auctions or giveaway the Wii on your own website to one of your readers if you end up winning. If you win it, it's yours. You can do whatever you want with it.

My goal with this giveaway is to generate the excitement a product like the Wii deserves and instead of just "randomly" picking a winner, give my readers a chance to work really hard to win the Wii. I find myself refreshing the page to watch the vote race play out.

I stand by my original rules that "The Person with the Most Votes Wins". (Assuming you don't do anything illegal of course! )

Nintendo Wii Giveaway Thoughts.....

Who knew the Nintendo Wii Popularity Contest would cause such a sensation? After Day 1, we've got hundreds and hundreds of entrants excited to win the coveted Nintendo Wii. A few leaders are emerging as Moms are getting creative in their tactics to win votes from friends, family members, co-workers, and their social networks. The buzz and curiousity over the voting standings even crippled ClassyMommy.com last night for an hour or two!

With 13 days to go it looks like the Bloggers and Twitter fanatics are gaining an early advantage. Andrea from Mommy Snacks is currently leading by about 50 votes as I'm sitting down to type this up. Mommy Snacks is followed closely behind by Toni from Grocery Price Books who has creatively linked earning votes to win the Nintendo Wii with a $50 Gift Card giveaway on her website. Others I've noticed tying the Wii votes to fabulous giveaways include Lori from A Cowboy's Wife (Win a $25 Am Ex Gift Card) and Alyssa from Kingdom First Mom (Win a $50 Walmart Gift Card) Overall, moms are enjoying the friendly competition with each other even while playing their own sympathy cards to earn more votes.

With almost 2 weeks to go this contest isn't anywhere close to over. If you're a blogger both Mommy Snacks and Domestic Diva have set up an super easy way for their readers to vote for them with just a quick click. Take a peek at their websites to get an idea of what they are doing to help them rock the Wii vote.

And if you're aspiring for more votes get out there and leverage your social networks. Start a campaign for yourself on Facebook. Tell all your friends on Twitter to vote for you. Ask your friends to ask their friends to vote for you.

Still looking for votes? My best friend doesn't use the online networks so she Texted everyone in her cell phone to go vote for her and she turned out almost 40 votes in a few hours. Not bad!

A Tinkerbell Sleepover Party

To celebrate Kenzie's move into her big girl bed, the two of us celebrated with a little Mother Daughter slumber party. After some pretend makeovers - and some real lipstick - this Mama broke the "no eating in bed rule" and we shared some delicious popcorn in bed while watching the brand new Tinkerbell DVD. Thanks to the Fisher Price Kid Tough portable dvd player, we were able to do all this from the comfort of her very own big girl bed! We were both very impressed with the clarity of the picture on this miniature screen. And of course the Tinkerbell movie itself was a hit for both Mother and Daughter. Disney sure has my number along with that of every little girl 7 and under! Thanks to Disney for letting us preview this spectacular flick and thanks to Fisher Price for letting us do it from the luxury of her bedroom thanks to the awesome Kid Tough dvd player.
