We're crazy for Little Swimmers as I've found this swim diaper doesn't "bulge" - plus Kyle loves Nemo and well come summer what pre-schooler isn't rejoicing about the extra juice Mom lets them drink?
We're giving away 3 swim bags with contents valued over $100 to 3 lucky Classy Mommy Reader. To get some hints on what you might want to pack in your bag, visit the 11 Moms website for tips here. The Trials of Redecorating

A few weeks ago I announced that Better Homes and Gardens is sponsoring a redecorating project in my home to celebrate the brand new line of products they’ve recently launched at Walmart.

As I explained at the start of this project, redecorating was definitely not top of mind amidst the constant mess of cheerios, goldfish, and endless toys that aim to take over my home on a daily basis. For better or worse, I’ve made some kind of mental shift as I’ve begun to reassess my entire home’s décor.

I profess I’m now becoming a redecorating junkie as I aspire to make all kinds of changes in our living quarters!

However, my redecorating habit is taking a toll on my marital bliss. My husband is not entirely thrilled with my desire to update and redesign. I’m desperate to paint the nook in our kitchen “Cabin Red” to match my brand new cranberry seat cushions for our table. He absolutely refuses to let me alter the paint in this corner and reiterates, “It is his house too.” Understandable.

I hoped to be a little more daring and dramatic but for the sake of my personal life, I’ll need to can this paint idea. So far, I’ve already retired my 30 year old table for this gorgeous new Farmhouse Table & Chair set. I love the changes! Although, a brand new table does not mean your toddler will stop smudging it with fingerprints or that your preschooler will stop spilling yogurt on a daily basis. Don’t kid yourself with that one!

- I’m still working on accessorizing with the following to complete my new look:

-Finding the right size sconces for my back wall (the one I so desperately want to paint red!)

-Adding a red table runner. (But I’m unable to track it down in stores or online)

-Filling an oversized stylish hurricane vase with just the right arrangement

-Making up my mind on a new light fixture! Decisions are tough!

-Installing my new “nested” style cabinet knobs

And I’m now so inspired, I must admit, I now have grand plans for redesigning my downstairs powder room with a new paint job, trendy sink, and light fixture once this kitchen project is finished! All it takes is that initial moment of inspiration because truly the process of planning and redecorating is so much fun once you get started.

To see what my fellow bloggers, Sheena of Mommy Daddy Blog and Katja of Skimbaco Lifestyle are thinking about doing for their living rooms and bedrooms, check out their inspirations here.

Disclosure: Better Homes & Gardens is sponsoring this post.

Hannah Montana Doll & Horse Giveaway

Win it! We're giving away this Hannah Montana Doll & Horse set from the new line of toys created especially for Hannah Montana:The Movie. Value estimated at $33.

Kenzie and I are planning to see this film together - she's a little bit young for Hannah Montana, but I profess that I love the music, saw the previews, heard it got some amazing reviews, and think it looks like something this Mommy is going to love. My understanding is that the movie is really about the classic celebrity struggle of juggling the "real life" with the jet set world of Hollywood and the fame that comes with it. We rock out to Miley's "The Best of Both Worlds" song on my iPod no less than 5 times a day so I figure we deserve a girls afternoon out to catch this flick!

Kenzie has this horse and doll set from Jakks Pacific and it is too cute. Kenzie has always wanted a larger "real life" looking horse (as opposed to her "My Little Pony" toys) and this fits the bill. And of course having a Hannah Montana doll is very cool for this 3.5 year old.

Easy Bake Oven Giveaway

In celebration of the Easy Bake Oven's 45 year anniversary, we're giving away a brand new Easy Bake Oven to one lucky reader! Value $24.95. Entry details are below.

Believe it or not, I've never actually had an Easy Bake Oven but I've heard great things about them and as a child I totally coveted my the concept of the Easy Bake oven and remember my best friend's older sister having her very own Easy Bake Oven. Easy Bake Ovens really do inspire "cooking". Over the last year Easy Bake oven has selected 7 finalists to be considered for "Baker of the Year." A 10 yr old little girl from my home state of Pennyslvania, Hannah Toomey, is actually a finalist and she has a Easy Bake Oven recipe that sounds totally yummy! I'm thinking Kenzie and I might just need to invest in one of these cooking contraptions for kids to see what wonders we can cook up!

Chocolate Raspberry Cake

2 pkg, EASY BAKE devil's food cake mix, 4 tsp water, 1/2 tbsp red raspberry preserves, 2 pkg. Easy Bake vanilla frosting, 2 tsp red raspberry preserves, 1/2 tsp water, 2 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1 1/2 tsp milk, 1 tsp sprinkles.

Preheat Easy Bake oven for 15 minutes. Pour contents of both devils food cake mixes into bowl and stir to break up any lumps, Add 4 teaspoons of water and stir to form batter. Pour batter evenly into two greased baking pans.

Place one in Easy Bake oven using the pusher. Bake for 12 minutes, Cool in cooling chamber 10 minutes. Repeat baking process for 2nd cake. Spread 1/2 tbsp raspberry preserves over cake, top with 2nd cake. In bowl, mix frosting mixes, 2 teaspoons preserves, 1/2 teaspoon water. Frost sides and top of cake. In warming cup, combine 2 tbsp chocolate chips and 1 1/2 teaspoon milk. Warm in chamber 15 minutes or until melted, stir until smooth. Spread over top of cake and let drip over sides. Top with sprinkles.

Earth Month Giveaway

It's Earth Month and we've got a grand prize package valued at an estimated $130 of earth friendly "green" products to share with 1 lucky Classy Mommy winner. The Walmart 11 Moms were able to test out many green products this month - you can take a peek at some of tips for living green here.

The prize package will contain Tide Cold Water, a Green Bissell Steamer, a Brita pitcher, Clorox Green Works, and White Cloud "green" Paper Towels. Estimated value is $130.

My faves are Clorox Green Works and the "green" White Cloud Paper Towels as they fit my lifestyle. I'm the type of person who is going to buy consumer products to make my life convenient yet, I'm looking for companies they have "eco-friendly" goods so I can still minimize my "footprint" on the planet. I know that making my own cleaner from home would be the most environmental friendly thing I could do - but I've got to be honest with myself and admit it just not likely to happen. So that leaves me seeking "greener"consumer packaged goods.

It's worth paying a tiny bit more for products that work just as well as anything else on the market but also minimize the environmental impact on the planet. Green Works is made from essential oils instead of nasty chemicals - it cleans fabulous and smells just like that fresh clean lemon scent you assoicate with that "clean kitchen smell." White Cloud Paper Towels are made from 100% recycled paper so no trees are cut down to create these disposable wipes that I covet to clean down my counters or messy spills. I am a serious paper towel girl!

A fresh look from Better Homes and Gardens & $50 Visa Giveaway

I’m thrilled to announce that Better Homes and Gardens is sponsoring a redecorating project in my home to celebrate the brand new line of products they’ve recently launched at Walmart.

As a busy Mom with two children, three and under, my house generally looks like chaos despite my continuous efforts to tidy up our living area. Redecorating is definitely not top of mind amidst the constant mess of cheerios, goldfish, and endless toys that aim to take over my home on a daily basis.

Better Homes & Gardens’ invitation surprised me and forced me to take a much needed look at the neglected areas of my home. I admit for the last four years I’ve been consumed with the exhausting process of pregnancy, tending to babies, entertaining toddlers, and just living in the moment of Motherhood.

For this project, I’ve decided to create a fresh look in my kitchen, the heart of my home and used Better Homes & Gardens magazine and website for my inspiration. I’ve spent hours after tucking the kiddos into bed surfing their website for kitchen and bathroom decor. The website is organized so that you can drill down to specific rooms of the home and see over thirty styles and designs. BHG even offers ideas on where to buy the bits and pieces to add that finishing touch. Honestly, BHG.com makes inspiration simple and easy – even for busy and exhausted Moms.
After taking a hard look at my kitchen, I realize I have truly neglected this area more than anywhere else in my home. And it’s where we spend 80 percent of our time! My kitchen table is literally a hand-me-down from my childhood. My Mom bought the butcher block table when I was three. I’m now thirty-three, so that makes this piece some thirty years old! My Mom gave it to me when I graduated college as her excuse to upgrade to a new table. At the time, I was thrilled with the free furniture. Unfortunately, I’ve never taken the time to find a table of my own. Same story with the fruit filled lamp which shines down on us at every meal, which my Mom bought when I was eight years old. It’s a gorgeous lamp but as a twenty-five year old piece, it’s definitely outdated. A true instance of if the shoe fits, why change it? Well, it is time for a change!

I saw this picture in the Better Homes & Gardens magazine for their new line showcasing their Farmhouse Table, dishes, and placemats. I decided I’d like to create a similar look in my home. I’ll be following up with pictures of my new kitchen soon!

To see what my fellow bloggers, Sheena of Mommy Daddy Blog and Katja of Skimbaco Lifestyle are thinking about doing for their living rooms and bedrooms, check out their inspirations here.

Win a $50 Visa Gift Card!
Now that it’s officially spring – thank you! – you’re probably looking around your house dreaming up a project or two. Your imagination may be healthier than your budget but little moves can have a huge impact. Tell us what kind of a mini-makeover you’re imagining for your kitchen, bedroom, living room or bath. Get $20 back from Unilever

I'm cooking Easter dinner this Sunday for the extended family - and as you all know, I'm a bit of a disaster in the kitchen so I'll be keeping it simple with an easy spiral sliced Ham. I think it will go smooth as most of my guests are bringing the fancier side dishes so I'll be able to focus on my favorite part - being a hostess, creating a super table setting, and orchestrating an egg hunt for all the kiddies.

Mom Central shared with me this excellent cash back deal that is compliments of Unilever. Get up to $20 cash back by mail on your turkey or ham purchase if you buy $40 of Unilever products during the month of April. You'll need the coupon from the April 5th circular and you can read all the details here at Unilever's Making Life Better website where they highlight all kinds of helpful recipes and special offers for their vast portfolio of brands. How to Safely Dispose of Batteries

As an online brand advocate for Energizer Rechargeables, I've been trying to keep up to speed on "battery" buzz. I'm all for using rechargeables since it reduces waste and is easier on your wallet long term - especially with plastic toys that guzzle batteries.

Now that I've been working with Energizer, I've finally got my "safe battery disposal" answers. With it being Earth Month, I thought I'd share with you all some info on how to safely dispose of your batteries.

Everyday Use Batteries:
I just learned that Energizer's "Everyday Use" batteries can actually disposed of safely as household waste. I took this info off the Energizer website which lists the US Battery Disposal Guidelines.

"Most everyday use batteries are alkaline and lithium, which in most states can be disposed of via your normal waste management process. This is possible because many years ago Energizer led the industry in eliminating heavy metals, such as mercury, from our products. Therefore, these products don’t contain any hazardous materials, as classified under federal EPA guidelines. "

(This was news to me as I've actually accumulated years of batteries and just this past weekend safely disposed of them via a special Earth Month recycling event in my community we were could turn in old TV's, computer monitors, batteries, and other electronics for safe disposal. )

Energizer Rechargeables:
Most rechareables can be safely disposed of as household waste, however in order to capture those that might be hazardous, it is recommended your recylcle them. Here's a website to find recylcing locations near you by zip code. Awesome tool and I found out my local Target, Lowes, Home Depot, and Radio Shack all accept batteries! Here is the official info from Energizer's website:

"Most rechargeable batteries used today are considered non-hazardous based on their “metal” content, which is nickel metal hydride and lithium ion. Therefore, they can be disposed of according to US federal guidelines. We do, however, ask that consumers recycle their rechargeable batteries to capture those that do contain hazardous waste such as lead acid and nickel cadmium.
We encourage you to visit
www.rbrc.org, the web site of the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC), or call 1-800-BATTERY, to find a convenient recycling location. "

Elmo "Being Green" Interview & DVD giveaway

Win it! Elmo's brand new "Being Green" dvd hits the street today. We're giving away a total of 5 dvd copies - 3 copies via this blog post here and 2 this evening on our radio show.

I'm always looking for engaging tools to teach my children about the environment and this new DVD is an ideal way for me to incorporate a message about protecting the planet in a fun way. The kids and I reveiwed this super educational Sesame Street DVD last week. As Elmo learns all about protecting the planet and being green from Actor, Paul Rudd, who plays Mr. Earth in the show, so will the kiddies. Elmo will even accidentally turn "GREEN" with the magical help of Abby Cadabby which my daughter thought was quite exciting!

Yesterday, 3 year old Kenzie & I dished with Elmo on his latest "Being Green" adventure. Elmo shared his tips about protecting the environment with us. We'll air tonight at 8 PM EST and when the interview is over I'll give away 2 more copies to live listeners.

The Budding Artist & her Crayola Giveaway Event!

Win it! My little girl is a budding artist so we're always looking to inspire her abilities with groovy writing tools and craft kits. Paint is always a favorite but we prefer the easier to clean up and equally fun tools like bath crayons and sidewalk chalk where there's no risk of ruining the carpet. (Been there... done that!)

And the great thing about being inspired to "create" is that it doesn't cost a lot of money in these tough economic times. Crayola has tons of innovative products under $10 to help kiddos groom their artistic talents! Sitting down with a blank sheet of paper and a few crayons is a totally enriching experience for my little girl where she can let her imagination run wild with her scribbles.

We're giving away a huge prize bundle of Crayola products worth $80. The prize package will include the following: Crayola Beginnings Baby Slide & See, Crayola Beginnings TaDoodles Ta-Doodler, Crayola Beginnings Tub Time Tracers, Color Surge Camp Rock, Crayola Sidewalk Crayons, Pip-Squeaks Colored pencils, Pip-Squeaks Glitter Glue, Crayola Color Switchers, and Crayola Window Crayons.

Polliwalks Shoes Giveaway

Win it! We've been fans of Polliwalks since they were introduced and this past month we reviewed 2 of the latest styles 2009 styles which are super innovative!

Kyle is crazy for his little T-Rex Dinosaur shoes with their little spikey tail on the end. And Kenzie loves her pink flip flop style Polliwalks - which actually change colors in the sunshine with the clear lips altering to purple! Pretty wild huh? Polliwalks are super comfy for kids and stay on their feet while they are bouncing around the playground. I love the "Footprinter™ Bottom" where each shoe bottom features the footprints of the animal that the shoe represents. Stepping in mud, sand, dirt or water and leaving footprints behind is always a win with the pre-school set!
We're giving away 1 pair of Polliwalks, any size & style, to 1 lucky winner.
